NRF users are divided into
two types of users: Educational researchers and Industry researchers.
The process for becoming a new user depends on the type of user
you are.
Educational Users must attend the Mandatory Orientation session
before becoming a user. Orientation sessions are offered once a
month and the schedule can be found below and on the
NRF
Calendar. The orientation session is optional for Industry Users.
Each User must take a safety test and walk-thru before becoming
a user. The safety test covers topics that can be found in the lab
usage guide and the walk-thru will help familiarize yourself with
the facility layout.
Please be aware that we do charge a fee every month for being an
user for Educational Users. Thus, if you plan to use the lab three
months from now, we advise you to contact us in two months. Otherwise,
your account will be charged a fee every month, even though you
are not using the facility.
Normally, becoming a new user takes about 2 weeks from the start
of the orientation session. If at any point you change your PI,
please notify the staff immediately so that charges can be authorized
to the proper account. You will also have to fill out a new Lab
Permission Usage form.
For our Industry customers, you will need to contact the lab
manager before becoming a new user. This is important in order
for us to identify whether our facility can meet your needs. Turnaround
time for becoming a new user is usually shorter for Industry users.
